Combining Kitchen Cabinet Colors in Kennett Square, PA

The kitchen includes not one cooking area, but three! The primary kitchen is well organized around a unique island and recessed cooking niche. This space focuses on combining kitchen cabinet colors and it transitions into a casual dining area, anchored by an entertainment/wine bar.

The area is divided into very specific cabinet and work sections. First, the room features one grand piece: a carefully engineered armoire housing a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer. The arched cooking niche (with pantries on each side opening into the walkways) was the second major area to be designed. To keep both ovens accessible for the cook the two-separate built-in Wolf ovens are functionally matched to the client’s height by being placed in mid-high units, rather than traditional tall oven cabinets.

The counter spanning between the ovens houses the Wolf range top. These two cabinet sections are balanced by equally interesting stepped cabinetry and counters around the sink: where a deep robust red accent color is introduced. Lastly, the multi-level island serves several centers of activity for the cook, helpers, children and visitors with the microwave and coffee machine tucked in the elevated section and a second sink and dishwasher directly opposite the cooking area.

The entertainment bar features a Sub-Zero wine storage and ice maker in a straight wall arrangement across from the table and family room. Just beyond is a totally functional catering kitchen. Long expanses of stainless steel countertop and open shelving are used for staging and preparing foods. A Wolf range and hood were used in the catering kitchen.
