Traditional Kitchen Design in Wilmington, Delaware

This beautiful traditional kitchen design is the result of a combination of three design initiatives undertaken by the creative team retained by the client to transform their existing kitchen into the one of their dreams. The goal was to create an inviting room to work in as well as one to gather in. The designers gathered inspiration from traditional kitchen design ideas photos. Key elements of the new kitchen space were a carefully sized wood mantle hood above the Wolf 36” dual fuel range #DF366 to the left of the sink, balanced by the 48” SubZero #532 to the right. Though an older model the Sub-Zero refrigerator was working well in the previous kitchen and so was not replaced. This working area anchored the entire space. Additional storage was provided in a pantry cabinet located close by, and in specialized storage surrounding a microwave oven included in the kitchen. You will note that a second full size Wolf oven and a second microwave are in the adjacent pantry room.

Expertly glazed white kitchens are almost the standard for Traditional Kitchen Designs 2017. Yet this project yet is different – it is not reminiscent of a villa in Tuscany or any other European retreat: rather the finishes and the styling all harkens back to the warm and welcoming sense of Colonial America. The architectural detailing used throughout the space, the combination of granite on counters, tiles splashes, and wood introduced in the pantry, the elegant windows in the breakfast nook as well as the fabrics specified by the design consultants create a room that is warm and welcoming because of its understated colors rather than over done in an attempt to replicate something from a past other than our proud American heritage. Everyone should feel free to get inspired from kitchen design ideas for small kitchens. They work for almost all size kitchens and styles! Looking at traditional kitchen design photo gallery can provide design ideas like the ones used in this project.
