The kitchen is in a grand room which leads to a beautiful outside deck. They definitely wanted a design to fit their casual lifestyle: open floor plan, a place where plenty of people could gather comfortably and a good traffic flow to the spacious outdoor deck; also a baking center and wet bar were required.
We were inspired by all the beautiful antique pieces and oriental rugs throughout the home. So it became obvious this was our jumping off point for design and four complementary finishes.
A unique fitted wet bar area was designed with an Antique Distressed Garden Room Green finish to appear to have been there for years. SubZero under-counter beverage center and wine cooler are “camouflaged” with appliance panels to maintain the antique feel.
We felt an unfitted galley style kitchen would allow an ease of traffic flow throughout the space and lend an openness to gather comfortably. Two Wolf ovens, a microwave and a warming drawer are housed below the island which keeps the openness of the space and allow for a true furniture feel. An“end-cap” custom accent piece with turned legs and marble top was a perfect fit for the baking area.
